What Is a Your Right to a Cost Estimate?

In accordance with federal law under the No Surprises Act, Pediatric Neuropsychology Associates PLLC provides Your Right to a Cost Estimates (GFEs) to families who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance for services. A Your Right to a Cost Estimate is a written summary of the expected costs for your child's neuropsychological evaluation and any related services, based on the information available at the time the estimate is prepared. The purpose of the GFE is to help families understand anticipated fees in advance and make informed financial decisions before care begins.

Who Receives a GFE?

Your Right to a Cost Estimates are provided to families who are uninsured or who choose to pay out-of-pocket (self-pay) rather than using insurance benefits. If you have insurance but choose not to use it for our services, you are still entitled to receive a Your Right to a Cost Estimate.

When Will I Receive It?

Your Right to a Cost Estimates are automatically issued for uninsured or self-pay services once care is scheduled and may also be requested. They are issued at least one business day prior to the appointment. Estimates are generally delivered by email or through our secure patient portal.

What If My Bill Exceeds the Estimate?

Please note that a Your Right to a Cost Estimate is not a guarantee of final charges. Actual costs may change if your child's clinical needs require additional testing, extended assessment time, consultation, report revisions, or follow-up services that were not known or anticipated at the time the estimate was prepared.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the amount listed in your Your Right to a Cost Estimate, you have the right to initiate a patient-provider dispute resolution process through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Information about this process can be provided upon request.
